Africa is the core of who we are. Her deep blue skies, meandering rivers and valleys, her history of strife and unending hope for a bright future for her children is what informs us, even subliminally, to lay a solid economic foundation for Africa's future generations. Whilst business is about gain and amassing financial and material wealth, ours is driven by a higher purpose of changing the course of events by impacting positively on the welfare and outlook of those who will follow us. Whilst the Africore Group may liberate us from the physical hardships of poverty, it should also open the horizons for Africa to rise, to give of itself on its own terms, and perhaps even lead the way in the manner in which business is conducted.

Africore is not about us, but about those who will draw sustenance from it, in the future, We are merely pioneers.

lf the wealth we are creating is predicated on vanity, then we would be blind to our history and our current realities; and callous to the plight of Africa's children. Politically, Africa is somewhat free from oppression, but economically we still need to seed and sustain a revolution, not a rebellion against the status quo, a reprisal for past wrongs; but a new course that aims to contribute to the welfare and well-being of the continent. lf we pursue our entrepreneurial undertakings for personal wealth, we might as well not have lived in Africa in its present form. We think communally and continentally, and put ourselves last. We are the soil wherefrom should spring fruits of the future. As stated in one of my poems, we are in search of a foundation:

Where the place, is

To lay the rare rock?

Where is the rare creek?

A secret place.

lf we are to find this secret place to lay the rare rock sustainable into the next millennia, in our actions we ought to be steady, in our choices contemplative, guided spiritually, and in our pursuits selfless. We are thus enjoined to dream big!

At Africore, we are on an endless journey. We want to be remembered by our approach and outlook and honoured for our successes, not because of wealth we have created but of the impact we delivered and for our open and lively spirit. We aim to be the light lifting wind that blows some of Africa's hopes to their destiny. Our hearts are open to do business inside and outside of the continent. We are willing to be bruised and abused, misled and vilified, as long as the place for "our  rare rock" is secured. This is our commitment to Africa and its children, born and unborn. Many heroes and heroines have made big sacrifices for us to be free to think and to dare to try to fulfil our destinies. We dedicate our destinies to legends, past present and future.
